Jojoba Oil
Jojoba oil is extracted from the seeds of Simmondsia Chinensis, a plant native to Arizona and California. It consists mainly of fatty acid monoesters and wax esters.
What are the properties of jojoba oil?
- It is hypoallergenic, which means that allergic reactions are rare: jojoba oil is gentle on the skin, so it is unlikely to cause allergies.
- It has antibacterial and moisturizing properties, while also supplying the skin with the moisture it needs.
- It contains antioxidants that help the skin fight oxidative stress caused by everyday pollution: it protects the skin from the negative effects of harmful environmental influences.
- Jojoba oil is non-comedogenic, which means it doesn’t clog pores, cause blackheads or other imperfections.
Use on skin
Gently massage a few drops of the oil on your face or body. Do not hurry. Concentrate on the pores of the face and make sure they are covered with oil. Leave on overnight or for at least 30 minutes, then cleanse with a mild cleanser.
Use on hair
Gently massage the slightly warmed oil into the scalp. Leave on overnight or for at least an hour for best results. Wash your hair with a mild shampoo.
