Clove Essential Oil

When we hear about cloves and their uses, many of us associate them with the mouth and teeth – clove oil is often found in toothpastes and mouthwashes, and our grandmothers recommended it for toothache. When properly diluted, the essential oil is used for gargling, especially for oral infections and toothache. It is also added to soaps and cosmetic products for acne and bacterial infections and acts as a natural preservative in cosmetics. It is also added to ointments and oils to relieve joint and muscle pain. It repels mosquitoes and moths.

Clove essential oil acts on the respiratory system (it dissolves mucus and is suitable for coughs as a gargle), stimulates blood circulation, relieves inflammation of the urinary tract, and supports the digestive system in cases of bloating, nausea, parasites, and digestive tract infections. Women will appreciate it in cases of inflammation of the fallopian tubes and uterus, and it is also used in preparation for childbirth due to its analgesic effects and to promote contractions.

Instructions

Use in a diffuser or aroma lamp to create a soothing and warm atmosphere. You can also add a small amount of the oil to your bath or mix it with a base massage oil and use it for massage.

The woody scent of cloves is often combined with all citrus fruits, during Christmas especially with orange, but also with tea tree, pine, eucalyptus, cinnamon, and lavender.
