Tea tree oil is one of the best known and most widely used essential oils, mainly due to its rich use in aromatherapy, cosmetics, and household applications. The essential oil is obtained by steam distillation of the leaves of the Melaleuca alternifolia tree. It is characterized by a sharp camphor scent of medium to strong intensity, whose aroma is released at a medium to fast rate (medium to high tone, i.e., heart to head). It is a common aid in home medicine cabinets and when traveling.

Tea Tree Essential Oil
One of the few essential oils that can be used undiluted directly on the skin is tea tree oil! It helps with insect bites and accelerates the healing of minor wounds and scratches. Thanks to its anti-inflammatory, antifungal, antiseptic, antibacterial, and antiviral properties, tea tree oil is used not only for acne, but also for other skin inflammations, warts, mouth ulcers, hemorrhoids, cold sores, abscesses, and other fungal and bacterial infections of the skin and nails. It is also added to shampoos as a preventive measure against lice. You will also find it in skin care products, toothpastes, mouthwashes, and deodorants.
Tea tree essential oil stimulates immunity, which is why it is used during flu and cold season, for tonsillitis and body inflammation. It is effective against intestinal viruses and urinary tract infections. Women appreciate it for gynecological infections in the intimate area. Inhaling tea tree oil has extremely beneficial effects on the respiratory tract (it eases coughs, relieves nasal congestion and swollen mucous membranes, and dissolves mucus). It also helps suppress seasonal allergies. It is sometimes called “the oil that cures everything.”

Instructions
Use in a diffuser or aroma lamp to create a soothing and warm atmosphere. You can also add a small amount of the oil to your bath or mix it with a base massage oil and use it for massage.
The camphor scent of tea tree oil can also be combined with other essential oils. It goes well with cinnamon, herbal oils such as sage, rosemary, or lavender, and citrus fruits (mandarin, lemon, orange, and grapefruit). It also works well in combination with eucalyptus and citronella.
