Dried Chickpeas

Chickpeas, also known as garbanzo beans, are a natural source of protein, fibre, folic acid and minerals (such as iron, potassium, magnesium, calcium and zinc). It has a delicate texture and tastes like fresh peas.

As a healthy snack, chickpeas are very tasty when roasted in ghee after cooking and seasoned with curry spices or garam masala at the end.

It is mainly used in Asian cuisine, mostly by vegetarians. Naturally gluten-free.

Use

Chickpeas need to be soaked in water before cooking, ideally overnight. Then cook in double the amount of water, replacing the water before cooking.
